What an honor to be on this podcast again!
Beyond the Lights was a movie that I adored in college for its representation of a Black multiracial feminine person and its addressing of suicide/mental health. Watching it now as an adult, I have complicated feelings about the love story, its positive light on the LAPD, and what it means to explicitly show "getting help."
Jamie and Caitlin were lovely people to process all of these nuances and truths with.
