I had the opportunity to read alongside Gibson Fay-LeBlanc for a tree lighting at the Portland Museum of Art last night.
I have never done any poetry themed reading like that before.
I was surprised to already have poems I wrote about Christmas with my father when I was six, or an erasure poem of Olaf from Frozen's words. I was also happy to find poems I wrote about trees and family that people received well that evening.
A lot of this year, I read poems for times of grief and times for necessary change, and I'm glad I did. I want to continue to do so.
I'm also happy to share poems solely out of joy as well. That's worth continuing to do too.
